Flower

The project was built upon the sensitivity of two contrasting women and their perspectives on beauty, and how they navigate their lives under the pressure of societal expectations and dogmas.

Artist Victoria Ostrenko depicts a woman with beauty, social obligations, and imperfections. She acknowledges her imperfections, and values and enjoys them despite societal pressure. These flaws are manifested both in actions and in the body, reflecting our inherent weaknesses that are not exclusive to women.

Marta Andrusenko explores herself, her fears, and her emotions in contemporary realities. Through symbolism and the beauty of flowers, she conveys emotions and feelings not only of her own but also those that prevail in her circle of communication, using complex abstract forms. She reflects on and transforms life experiences into art.

These beautiful women with their unique traits, which make them individual and unparalleled in this world, reveal themselves to us so that we can feel their weaknesses, anxieties, joy of existence, and desire for harmony.

BIO & CV

Vika Ostrenko

The artist was born on December 7, 1976, in the small town of Horishni Plavni.

The profession of a make-up artist determined the direction of my creativity - portraiture.

Observing women and their relationships with the world gives me inspiration for creativity. In my works, the viewer can always see and feel the feminine beginning, which I convey not only in form but also in color. Careful contemplation of my contemporaries and communication with them helps me to create a more realistic portrait, even when I do not use classic techniques. Through portraits, I study a woman's character and this helps me understand and accept myself.

Marta Andrusenko

Marta was born in 1988 in Kyiv. She has been creative since childhood, but she did not choose a creative profession. Therefore, she received vocational, technical, and higher education in the specialty "Documentation and Information Activities". She drew simply for herself. For a while, she was developing designs and creating handmade jewelry from beads and threads. She did not abandon her dream of becoming an artist. In 2017, Marta inspiredly began to study (independently and through private lessons) oil painting and its technology, composition, color, and form. The artist experimented with different mediums and sought to choose materials to allow her to realize her plans. She was looking for her style. In 2022, against the backdrop of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, she realized that she could no longer postpone the realization of her ideas and dreams. Values were reassessed. This is how her first abstractions and collages began to appear.

Currently, Marta works mostly in mixed media and paints with acrylic.
