WHAT IF?
A project in which Diana Minaieva invites the viewer to reconsider everyday, familiar processes and interactions with the world through the prism of internal conflicts and emotions shaped by external circumstances and people. Emotions themselves become the new visual subject - an attempt to find balance and a sense of calmness.
In her works, the artist deliberately combines naivety and distortion. The scenes may depict small, everyday situations, yet it is precisely in these details that context and imagery reveal themselves most deeply. The diversity and abundance of surreal, sometimes grotesque characters are not provocation for its own sake, but rather a visualization of inner states that are difficult to articulate verbally, although feel necessary to express honestly.
The artist invites the viewer into reflection and contemplation by taking the first step frankly - revealing her own lens through which she sees the world. Despite the provocative or even nasty nature of some images, at their core lies a naive perception and a sincere desire to fill the surrounding world with kindness.
The viewer is not merely an observer here, rather an interlocutor.
You are invited not to solve, but to feel, to recognize, to pose your own “what if?” questions and to allow yourself not to have final answers.
