Contrasts

Life is a balance of opposites and a reminder that it is based on two fundamental principles: good and evil.

When we forget this and strive to live in a world where only one principle prevails — good — the emergence of the second, antagonistic principle in our lives can be deeply traumatic, as we are neither consciously nor subconsciously prepared to accept scenarios that may cause us harm.

The series of works, "Contrasts," has logically matured from the experiences my country has undergone as a result of a treacherous war and from my personal experiences during this period.

Through these works, I want to tell the world that it is always essential to remember a dualistic concept's existence. For those who choose to bring these works into their space, I aim to provide a daily reminder to cherish the good that we have, always remembering that in an instant, everything can change dramatically. Love life. It is wonderful. Right now. At this moment.

BIO

Andriana Matys is a contemporary Ukrainian artist and abstractionist who focuses on the content and emotions conveyed or evoked by her works. A crucial element in her creative process has been the search for her technique. As a result, everyone who becomes acquainted with her works feels and understands every movement of the palette knife as if they lived through these emotions and created this masterpiece.

Her works communicate with the audience through "Braille," giving a tactile sense of the world and through pure, vibrant colors, reminding us of the vividness of life. Her works quickly become dear to the audience, giving the impression that they have always been a part of their lives, leaving the most striking memories. Her creations reside in private collections in Ukraine, the UAE, Japan, Poland, Germany, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and others, including the private collections of the Presidents of Ukraine.

Andriana's alter ego is the deputy head of the International Investment Office, founder of "A-ARTGALLERY," co-founder of the Ukrainian embroidery revival project "Vyshyvanka YOLANTA," an expert in investment attraction and business development, and an entrepreneur.

She has devoted much of her life to education, earning four higher education degrees and a Ph.D. in law. She studied in Ukraine, Serbia, and Germany and was ranked among the top 20 successful women in the Lviv region.
