We Are Sprouting
I continue to observe life, watching how we endure against the backdrop of recent years' trials, how we search for a foothold in life. We are acutely aware that death walks beside us, yet we choose to keep moving forward. We seek new values, finding authenticity in the smallest details. Knowing that all we have is today, we live in accordance with that truth.
My tools are the human body, plants, and flowers - fragile yet strong, tender, and ruthless. All we have is the "now." It does not matter at all what events have fallen to our lot; we exist only in the here and now.
For some time now, I have been creating paintings based on sketches drawn from life in Lviv. I often leave the proportions exactly as my hand and eye captured them during a brief fifteen-minute pose. I want these works to retain their freshness and imperfection. Our world is not perfect, and our perception is fleeting - so let there be a genuine, unedited moment here.
